You can get through this. Let’s navigate it together.

please Hear me when I say:

Right now it feels like nothing is going your way and no one understands.

You don’t deserve to feel this way.

How I work

I work with people in overwhelming seasons of life to help them adjust or meet their personal expectations in a compassionate and meaningful way

I believe change requires support and support requires understanding.

I create relationships where my clients feel cared about. I want to step into your mindset and experience as much as possible.  This way you can feel seen and heard. So in the early part of our work, I will strive to get to know you and what brought you to this moment. I love details because context matters. I may have a sense from the start, but you have your own story that deserves to be told.

I believe your openness and expertise in your experience enriches the process.

As part of my collaborative approach, I often check in with my clients to make sure that they feel we are heading in a direction they are comfortable with and whether their needs are being met.  This can look a few different ways when we meet in session. I might ask what you want to focus on in session that day, what your thoughts are on a reflection I made, or what would be most helpful in the moment for you. You might know or you might not, either way is totally okay! But I want you to feel like you could tell me. You are always welcome to push back on my advice or reflections. I actually encourage.

I believe in meeting you where you are.

Any input I have will only mean so much without your voice and the details of your experience. A lot of the time we are getting unsolicited feedback from people. There’s a chance I might suggest something you have either heard about or even tried already! Plus I’d be surprised if you haven’t ever heard someone say, “Why don’t you just [insert their super simple solution]?” You don’t need that from your therapist, too!

I believe getting you to where you want to be requires compassion and authenticity–from both of us.

I often tell my clients that even if we set a goal to strive for the following week, there will be no chastising if you come back and say you totally forgot.  We can adjust, we can try again–or not!  You face enough judgment in life and I never want it to come from me.  I focus on, “Is this working?” as opposed to right vs. wrong.

I believe therapy is not a one size fits all and should be tailored to who you are and what you want.

You, your identity, and your values are unique to you. Another reason I ask questions as part of my process is to make sure I am in tune with who you are and what you want.

I’m in your corner.

LISTEN…podcasts, vent sessions, self-help books, TikToks, reels can be life-giving. I use them and recommend several to friends, clients, and colleagues.  But do you even have time to read them, put their insights into practice, or process them on a deeper level? Are they helping you get through? Maybe! Could you use more than that? Certainly.

Some of what you take in may be meaningful. And at the same time, it’s not personalized to you and the whole picture of your life and what you have going on. What if well-meaning advice just misses the mark and ends up making you feel more stuck, inadequate, or just plain pissed off?

  • Have you had someone say your loss of a loved one is the same as when their parents got divorced?

  • Or had someone say, you just need to use a planner if you have just been diagnosed with ADHD?

  • How many diets have you read about or swapped with others because you can’t seem to ever find the right one?

  • Any chance someone made you feel like you should be “over” whatever you’re dealing with?

You will find a deeper, kinder, and maybe even relatable, approach here.

I was drawn to be a therapist because I love supporting people and I have pursued training so I could learn how to best do that. I have always been honored to be a part of the journey and growth of my clients.  And as my knowledge and experience grew, my passions and personal hurdles drove me toward my specialty areas of expertise.

I am no stranger to the isolation that comes from grief or the ripple effect death has on every area of your life.  I have encountered a fear of the unknown and a desire to control or plan for anything.  My body was up for discussion by family members as I grew up and it has fluctuated in size several times, depending on life circumstances and how regimented I was.  I have felt the internal torment at seeing people just go about their lives when mine was upside down.  I have been my harshest critic and expected more from myself even when I had nothing left to give.  I know what it feels like to be invalidated and misunderstood.

My experiences have shaped me and inform how I show up for you. My empathy comes from a real place.

I strive to bring authenticity and genuineness with me when we meet. This means that you will see that I care and that I am also an imperfect human. You can trust that I’ll never say something because I “have to” as your therapist.

Clients have described my support as unwavering and that I create a safe and loving environment they need to do the work and grow. My colleagues have often commented on how deeply I care about my clients and I believe you’ll see that come across when we meet.
